This is a review for the Documentary "Famous Monster" it is an affectionate Homage to a legend.
Mr Sci-fi, Uncle forry, The Ackermonster, 4e, 4SJ , call him what you want, but Forrest J Ackerman was the man who taught generations to love Horror and Sci-Fi.
The documentary is presented through extensive use of movie clips,archive footage and interviews with the biggest names in fantasy films, ( Roger Corman, Ray Harryhausen, Ray Bradbury, John Landis, Joe Dante and George Clayton Johnson, among others).
The Documentary traces Ackerman's 90-year transformation from obsessed movie-going toddler to sci-fi literary agent, to "Deaditor" of Famous Monsters of Filmland, a magazine that inspired some of Hollywood's most successful film-makers.
In "Famous Monster" there is also a tour of the infamous Ackermansion, which housed a 300,000-piece collection of sci-fi, fantasy and horror memorabillia.
This is a MUST SEE documentary for all Horror & Sci-fi Fans.
